What a fantastic weekend celebrating 20th anniversary of the National Biodiversity Data Centre in the beautiful surroundings of Killarney National Park.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, contributed to workshops and field walks, shared their expertise, and helped make this milestone event such a memorable occasion. It was wonderful to come together to learn, network, record biodiversity, and celebrate the remarkable achievements of Ireland’s recorder network.
We would also like to sincerely thank our hosts and supporting organisations, particularly the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Killarney National Park Education Centre and Trustees of Muckross House (Killarney) CLG for their support in making this special event possible.
As Liam Lysaght, CEO of the National Biodiversity Data Centre, reflected:

This weekend was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate that extraordinary contribution. Thank you to all the recorders, citizen scientists, experts, staff, contributors and partners who have helped build and strengthen biodiversity recording in Ireland over the past two decades.
