The National Biodiversity Data Centre’s Annual Review 2016 has been published. This presents some of the highlights of the work delivered by the Data Centre during 2016. The highlights are presented as different case studies under the seven strategic objectives identified by the Data Centre for the period 2013-2017. The report demonstrates the strategic value of the work of the Data Centre, highlights the importance of building an evidence base on Ireland’s biodiversity and how it is changing, and clearly demonstrates the added value that can be derived from collection and management of biological data.
